Restriction on IE 6.0

M

mike

I have a personal PC w/ Windows XP and I have only 1
account on it. From IE 6.0 I can no longer get into
Tools - Internet Options. I now get the following
dialog...

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in
effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administrator.

I am the sys admin and I can't recall what I did to turn
on this restriction. How can I get this back to the state
where I could get into Tools - Internet Options?

thanks

mike

Close IE.
Open Regedit.
Find the value NoBrowserOptions and remove every instance of it.

You might try this from Mike Burgess first if you use SpyBot:
'Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
If so, you can unlock by unchecking the option to "Protect IE Control
Panel"
