I have seen this question posed in several posts, but so far, I have seen NO
answer... so, I will ask here .. is it possible, with WIndows XP HOME to
restrict access to the printer, for specified users? I have a friend, whose
kids are alway using up his printer ink so he wants to make a seperate
account for them on his computer (so they can play their games) but he does
not want them to be able to print...... Is this possible?

Thank You

Hi,

Yes, once logged on as administrator the security tab should be visible -
then remove print permissions for that user group. You can't specify it per
user, only on the user group. If you disable it for limited users, then no
limited account will have this permission.

Thank you for the reply, but could you tell me WHERE I can remove the
permissions from? (this socalled Security Tab)

I tried it on my machine before passing this info along .. but, MY printer
doesnt even show up as installed in safe mode .. so, I was wondering

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Try instead this folder:
C:\Windows\system32\spool
