Help!! Can windows XP Home edition be restored to its
original installation settings by way of changing the
registry settings?

Hi Ken,

Depends on how old the installation is. System Restore can take you back,
but only if the restore point still exists. What are you trying to resolve?

Hi Rick,
I have changed my IP from Freeserve to a company could
Pipex I've uninstalled Freeserve but evidence of it is
left in Internet Explorer e.g. Internet Explorer supplied
by Freeserve in the title bar, I want to get rid of all
signs of Freeserve, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ken,

P.S.
Nutcase?

Run regedit.exe

Open to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Main
and in the right pane d-click WindowTitle and set what you would like to
see (eg I just have IE6).

You could also d-click the Search Page and enter an alternative to the
freeserve one, but I left it and it has not intruded,

For Outlook Express go to the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\
<complicated string>\Software\Microsoft\OutlookExpress\5.0
and again change WindowTitle in the right pane
