a) How to restore a PC to using the "old" Windows XP boot manager?

b) Or how to edit the Vista boot manager options if Vista has been removed?

Boot to XP

Put in the DVD from Vista don't let it start.

type in a cmd prompt (as administrator):
X:\boot\bootsect /nt52 c: (X: = the drive letter from the DVD)

You wil get an error warning the update maybe wrong because the drive is
in use but it will restore the bootmanager from XP.
