Restoring icon layout

Occasionally there's an event which causes my desktop icons to be rearranged
and resized, such as plugging in a monitor with differnt characteristics. Is
there a way to save the icon layout, size and other characteristics so that
it can be easily restored when the original monitor is attached, rather than
manually dragging each one back?

I use IconRestore.

Hi, Gord-

I haven't tried Icon Restore yet, but I saw a warning that it cannot be
uninstalled in the usual way via the Windows uninstaller. There's a link to

(But the reviews were terrific and nearly unanimous!)

Yes, there is. Check with Google - there are lots of 3rd party apps that
will remember the desktop layout and re-establish it for you.
