I have long since deleted the desktop "My Documents" folder on both my
XP Pro and 2000 systems. I am interesting in restoring them, but am not
sure how.

"My Documents" does exist, I had re-pointed it to C:\MyFiles, as I have
been the only user of both systems. That will change and I'd like to
restore the desktop on my user accounts before other user accounts are
added.

How do I do this?

Thanks.

Thomas

Not sure about 2K, but in XP: Display Properties -> 'Desktop' tab -> 'Customize Desktop' button.

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its My Computer - Special folders page allows you to Change Location
used for any of these 'logical' pointers, The folder you point it to
must exist in advance - the standard location for 'My Documents' is
C:\Documents and Setings\<user name>\My Documents

PMFJI, Alex:
I've just installed XP Pro., so far finding it V. nice to use but fancied
Powertoys *however*, on the page it says it only works with US-English
regional settings.
I don't want to change from UK settings: what's the deal?
Thanks
Jim
