Restoring deleted items folder for non-exchange server

I deleted all the items in my Deleted Items folder. Is there a way of
retrieving them? I am not on an exchange server so that method won't work.
If I do a "system restore" on a date before I deleted the "Deleted Items"
folder, will the items in the "Deleted Items" folder be restored? If so, can
I then copy them before doing a "undo the last system restoration?"
