Restoring deleted files

I deleted files of off my hard drive that I didn't want
and I realized that I still need them. They are not in my
recycle bin for me to restore. Does anyone know a way to
retrieve files that are gone? I tried doing a system
restore and that didn't work.

Make you've deselected the recycle bin option that fully
deletes any files - otherwise they're gone as far as I
know.
