Restoring Default Settings

I have a XP Computer running Word 2003
The default page that starts when you open Word comes up without any default
settings and the cursor stars at the very top of the page not at a margin
point. How do I recover the standard defaults?

You probably just have hidden the "white space" at the top and bottom of the
page. Try clicking just below the ruler, as shown at
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/WhiteSpace.htm.

If anything else is set wrong, please be specific about what "default settings"
you're referring to.
