Restoring BCM '07 in Vista

I was using BCM '07 Beta in XP. When installed Vista Beta and tried to
restore my BCM database from a backup it said I did not have permission to
restore. I figured out in Vista I need to right click on the Outlook.exe
and run it as Administrator in order to restore a database.

This worked fine until i closed Outlook then reopened it normally under my
normal Windows user profile (which is set to administrator) It said "Login
failed" and would not allow me to access the BCM database.

In order for me to be able to view the BCM data, i need to right click on
Outlook app and chose to run as admin.
While in BCM under admin I tried to set it up to share the database, that
did not work either. the two users that were listed to share it with was my
main Windows user profile (which was listed as database owner) and the
Administrator (from which i had restored the database under)

i have tried to find info on this issue but have not been successful, any
insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did you get an error message?

Next time you run the sharing wizard again, does it still show the
database as private?

Here is what the Release Notes for BCM 2007 say:

Question: Cannot restore a Business Contact Manager database on a computer
running Windows Vista.

Answer: To restore a database on a computer running Windows Vista, you must
be a member of the Administrators group and you must run Outlook as an
administrator. To run Outlook as an administrator, do the following:

Close Outlook.
Click the Start button, and then click Computer.
In Windows Explorer, click the drive where the 2007 Office release is
installed.
Click Program Files, and then click Microsoft Office.
In the Microsoft Office window, click 2007 Office.
Right-click the Outlook icon, and then click Run as Administrator.

There are a few other notes here:

Hope that helps -- you did great figuring it out on your own!
