restoring a backup

I have had to replace a hard drive and reinstall Windows
XP Pro OEM. I had previously created a backup of the
entire old drive to my external hard drive using the XP
backup pogramme. I now need to restore the backup.
When I go to Backup Utility-Tools-Option-Restore, should I
choose "do not replace the file on my computer"
or "replace the file on disc only if the file on disc is
older" or "always replace the file on my computer"?
Any other tips or traps?
