restore w2kp from bkup to smaller partition

if i have a full backup of "C:\ & system files" using windows backup and i
repartition my drive, format and reinstall w2kp to a smaller partition of
C:\ , will it work to restore win2kp to the new, smaller partition or will
there be issues involved since it is now on a different size partition from
when it was backed up?

A smaller partition size won't be a problem as long as you have enough space
to restore all of the data.
If you changed the Windows directory path, then you might run into some
problems.
