Greetings!
I'm running XP Home SP2 on a Compaq 910US notebook. This thing's been
flawless for nearly 3 years and finally flipped out on me last week. I've
got 2 accounts on this box, one that I use at work and one that I use for
everything else. While visiting a friend I was working in my "non-work"
account and setup a wireless profile to access his wireless access point.
This was fine for a few hours, but when I tried to use the computer the next
day I found that XP was frozen. The short version of this story is that I
performed a restore back to the previous day under my non-work account but
still had problems with XP freezing and I never was able to solve this issue.
Upon returning to work I was still having issues so I did a restore under my
work login and discovered that the only available dates were 9-29 even though
I had performed a restore on 10-1 and 10-2 under my non-work login.
Currently the computer is operating normally, save for a bootup issue this
morning which was solved by XP deciding to do a diskcheck after 2nd failed
boot. So, the question is this; given the above scenario should it be
necessary to actually perform a restore under each and every login in order
to fully restore the computer?
Confused in Oklahoma (no football jokes please)
