Restore to a different computer

I have been using Onecare to backup to an external drive. I have purchased
a new computer and would like to restore my backup from the old computer to
the new one, so all my data files are migrated from the old to the new
computer. Does anyone know how to do this?

Didn't go that route myself when I purchased a new box earlier this month,
but I think it should be a matter of loading one care on the new box,
plugging in the external, then using backup restore in one care. It should
work fine since these would be the steps needed if your hard drive died and
you needed to restore you backups to a new drive.
