Hi
Layout: XP SP3
Even if "Restore previous folder windows at logon" option is ticked, it's
not working; when restarting the computer W Explorer does not start up as it
should.
It worked a while ago but it's not working anymore. No noticeable new
software installed.

Please help.

Thanx

Check the following registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\PersistBrowsers

Type: REG_DWORD Data: 0x00000001 (1) - means enabled/checked, 0x00000000
(0) - means disabled/unchecked

Here is an interesting article with a possible solution depending on
your situation.

This article uses 5000 (which is mine), but you can go lower or
higher. I don't know if I changed mine ever or that is the default.

Kelly's Tweak #2 uses 8000.

....and, once you check the box and verify the registry is correct
after reboot (as indicated) by Rey.

If the registry value changes on a reboot, you have another problem.
