Restore points disappear

I have restore enabled and have maximum memory alloted. I recently had
problems and tried to restore. All the restore points were gone. In the
following restore points were added automatically. I had some problems again
and whne I pulled up Restore all the dates were gone. What is causing this?

A tip: Using the maximum allocation for restore points is really a waste
of disk space. I can't think of anyone who needs that much space.

Probably not applicable here but with a dual booting computer if Vista
see a Windows XP you can lose XP restore points. I think I might
encourage Bert to add it to his page.
