Restore Points but no Restore

I need to do a System Restore and I have several Restore Points dates
available. However, when I go through the process, on reboot Windows tells
me it could not restore my PC. What might be the problem and what might be
the solution?

often, but not always, this is a sign that some malware is installed and
is interfereing w/ Sys Restore, either by disrupting it itself, or by
corrupting the saved restore poiints. Try the normal steps to get rid of
as much spyware as possible first. Note that reverting back may just
bring the spyware back tho.

I may not have made my problem clear. My computer reboots just fine, but
the screen pops up that says System Restore could not use a Restore Point
and the computer has not been changed, or some text to that point.

Some anti-virus programs do not play nicely with System Restore. You might
try temporarily disabling your anti-virus program, or boot into Safe Mode
before attempting to run System Restore.

Is the error message a result of a reboot performed by System Restore?
Or is this error message appearing after every reboot?
