Restore points are deleted

Any restore points created via a system checkpoint, manually or by app,
installation are deleted after one day by my XP system. Understandably, that
does not give me many options should I need to use it. There is 4GB set
aside for the Restore utility. Can someone help?

when you say they are deleted after one day do you mean
after a reboot? or are they deleted with out a reboot.

I thought I should double check that, and I find that when I reboot,
existing points are deleted and a system checkpoint set for the time of
reboot.

Starting to narrow it down ;-)
