Somehow the 'My Documents' folder is gone from the
desktop...If I use WinExplorer and go to my 'My Docs' and
try to copy and paste to desktop I'll get hte .."you can
not copy this to desktop..Do you want to create a desktop
item to point to this??" dialog If I accept I get My Docs
back but only till I log off/restart

What am I missing to make it permanent??

Thanks much

Hi,
Open WinExplorer, go to c:\My Documents
On the right side, there is another folder named My Documents.
Rename that inner folder to My Laptop Documents (or anything other than My
Documents).
Move that renamed folder to the c: drive.
Copy all the remaining contents of the My Documents folder to a new folder
on the
c:drive, called mydocuments1.
Go to the desktop.
Right click on My Documents, go to properties.
Change target location to mydocuments1.
Go back to Win Explorer.
Delete the My Documents Folder.
Rename mydocuments1 to My Documents.
