Restore Issue

A friend opened IM with corrupt file. I cannot restore the computer. I have
a partial login screen. I would appreciate any comments.

Reboot then use the f8 option. First try last good configuation. If it don't
work, then reboot, then f8 and go into safe mode and see if you have a
restore point for that morining before the corrupt file grand opening. If
not, disable all your startups in msconfig (run > msconfig > startup >
disable all ) then reboot to normal mode. If this works, run your anti
viruls. If you can't reboot, then run setup with your windows cd. (Setup

new install > repair )........
