Restore folder options

Well, I know how to restore all the folder options and such, but I am havinh
one issue. I created some new icons that I wanted to apply to various
folders. I also wanted to repleace my hard drive icon with one I made. So I
went to start -control panel - folder options - file types tab. I clicked on
"drive" and then I clicked the advanced button. I changed the icon and
clicked ok and then I did the same thing to the folder option. But when I
went to My Computer, the HDD icon wasnt changed, neither were any of the
folders. And when I open any folder or click on my drive, it opens a new
explorer window wanting me to search for something. How do I make it so when I
click open folders and drives it opens it and displays it like it did before?
Is there a restore file types button?

Hi MicroKid,

Try the REG fix here, which should fix both the problems.

Open each folder in the same window:

Are you trying to assign icons to a particular folder or for all the
folders?

I was originally attempting to assign the icon to all the folders. And thanks
for you help.
