You'll need to read the User's Guide that came with your computer
or visit the support web site of the manufacturer of your computer.

And the brand name of the PC is? If it's a Dell, HP, eMachines or some
other brand name computer, either use the Restore Disk they gave you. If
you weren't give one, your "restore disk" is on a hidden partition. I
suggest, if that's the case, that you contact the manufacturer of your
PC and ask them how to use the hidden partition to restore back to
factory settings.

Do you? Given the paucity of information in the original post that was the
only possible answer.

We need more inforamtion before anyone can help you. What brand of computer
do you have? Do you have a Windows CD or do you have a recovery CD set? What
exactly do you want to accomplish? Erase everything and start again? Fix
some problem in Windows?

Translation: *No* *one* can know the answer to this question because the
OP didn't tell us anything about his computer. Hence I suppose your
next post asking for the pertinent information. What, you mean you
don't know the answer by using your Crystal Ball like the rest of us?

To the OP:

You need to do as Carey said or post back with information about your
computer - make and model at the very least. Read the information at
this link to see what kinds of details you need to include in your next
post:

"Factory settings" indicates the computer is a brand name computer and
brand name computers have either a restore disk or a hidden partition.

No, it isn't. Carey didn't mention either the restore disk or the hidden
partition.

When you say restore do you mean restore to factory settings. I had to do
this only last week. I have a Dell laptop. Remove all cables except for power
cable. Turn system back on and assoon as you turn it on hold down the Ctrl
key and as you are holdidng strart tapping the F11 key once every two
seconds. This will lead you to a screen with two options, one for restore
and one for reboot, click on restore. Follow the instructions on the screen
and this should take you back to how you first received your computer, and
the settings you first had. Any software or hardware you installed after
that date has to be reinstalled
