restore deleted files on a NAS device

Since NAS devices only run WIndows kernels, how can a file
be restored that was accidentally deleted?
 
If you are using Windows Storage Server 2003, it will take snapshots and you
would restore from the most recent snapshot. Or you can pull the file from
one of the backups.
