Restore default icons

Is there a way to restore program and folder default icons ?
A user messed-up all the icons on the desktop (for example CD drive icon is
the one for recycle bin, etc.)

Since there are various places, you might be better off when using the
System Restore tool. If this doesn't help, use "TweakUI" in addition:

TweakUI > Repair > Rebuild Icons > Repair Now.
