Restore Active Directory

The best way to a restore on active directory is to do a
authorative restore from you back up tape its easy to do
and works.

for future reference use veritask to backup active
directory or Quest Active Directory Restore.
 
Wouldn't it be better to do a non-authoritative restore ?
That is the recommended way as I understand it.
 
Maybe we are missing the first part of the post ( er, the actual problem ).
Can not really tell you which is the 'best' method is as you use one in one
scenario and the other in a different scenario.

So, what is the scenario?
