HI! I want to know if its possible to increase my network speed to 100 bps.

2 computers sharing a DSL modem connection through a 10/100 bps D-link
router.

1: computer PII with winXP sp2
2: computer PI Pro with win98 second addition.

The Modem is connect as the main input to the router and the computers are
connect to the other ports.

My sharing is on and I do share data between both computers. they are both
list in network neighborhood.

At the moment my local area connection icon lists the connection at 10.0
Mbps

Can I increase this the speed between both to 100 Mbps?

NOTE: I did post this question and got a response by an MVP asking a
question but I no longer see the post and I noticed when I was responding to
the question from the MVP that the server said it could no longer find the
post. so for this reason I am reposting the question as I suspect the server
lost the post some how.

Hi
LOL you seem to change your mind about the nature of your hardware.

If you are using Cable/DSL Router.

In order to get Local traffic (not Internet) to the functional level of
100Mb/sec.

NICs in all computers should be 100Mb/sec. compatible.

All NICs drivers should be set the same to Auto Sensing or 100 Full Duplex.

The CAT5e cables connecting the computers to the Router should be in good
shape.

The PPPOE software should be uninstalled and the DSL should be kept alive
through the Router.

The TCP/IP Stack should be optimized for DSL.
