Restart automatically at Login? I need to!

Hi! I need to restart my XP Dell pc after initial start up or my keyboard
won't work. I first do a cold start and then when the login screen appears, I
use the mouse to do a restart. Only after the restart will my Microsoft
keyboard work. I have tried to track down this problem with Microsoft and
Dell tech support to no avail. If you have a fix for that problem, I'm all
ears. If not, is there any way I can force a restart when the login screen
appears? That way I won't need to come back to the pc to do the mouse
restart.

Thanks, Jimmy.

Have you tried a different brand keyboard and driver?

Yes. I have tried several keyboards and the most recent drivers from
microsoft. I should mention that this problem started after I did a reformat
of my hard drive. Not immediaely thereafter but about a week after.
