When I enter this forum is it true that I need to disable popup blockers to
post a question?
Also, When I get a response(using hotmail), I click on the hyperlink and am
brought to this forum -in general- not to the specific answer as with other
forums. Is this b/c popups must be disabled again or is there another
explanation?
I'm curious if other users find this disabling to be a problem-I use several
forums and they only require user name and password. What is the reason for
this extra step?

You're using web access. Use Outlook Express instead. Configure your
news in Outlook Express to msnews.microsoft.com
(Tools/Accounts/Add/news) as it is a MUCH easier format to deal with.

You are having difficulty because you are using the dreadful web
interface. It is very easy to use a newsreader. Here is information
about this:

Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you
learn to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows,
but you can use Outlook Express since you already have it. Here are
