Resolutions supported by AIW Radeon

I am looking at new flat panel monitors to use with my All in Wonder Radeon
card and I am a little confused about whether this graphics card will
support the flat panel. I was looking at the specs on the HP L2025 flat
panel monitor and the native resolution is 1600x1200 @ 60/75 Hz. Also, it
comes with the DVI-D cable. Will I be able to use this monitor?

Currently, I cannot drive my video card beyond 1280x1024 (32 bit color @ 60
Hz). However, according to
http://www.ati.com/products/radeon/aiwradeon/specs.html I can go upto a
resolution of 2048x1536. However, I have not figured out a way to go beyond
1280x1024. If someone has figured out how to do this, can you please post a
message with the procedure?

Thanks,
MT

first off the monitor you have now, is it named properly in display properties? Refresh rates will be determined by 1 the adapter 2
your monitor. When you say flat panel are you referring to a LCD TFT or a flat screen CRT? TFT LCD don't need refresh settings.

Yes it will work with that monitor, the limits your currently seeing are
because your "current" monitor does not allow such a high resolution.

I'm assuming here that the 7200 Radeon will drive a Dual Channel DVI cable
properly at that resolution; it may only support "official" DVI resolutions,
ie 1280x1024, but will drive the monitor in Analogue mode properly.

By the AIW Radeon I'm assuming you mean the 7200 Radeon All in Wonder DDR.

JAD,
My current monitor is set correctly - my current monitor does not have any
problems. I am trying to find out if a new monitor I am going to purchase
(which is a TFT LCD) is going to be compatible with my vedeo card. I did not
realize that TFT LCDs don't need refresh settings (I mentioned the refresh
settings because HP's website talks about the refresh rate).

Thanks for your help,
MT

Alan,

I have the very very first generation Radeon card and not the 7200 AIW
Radeon. (http://www.ati.com/products/radeon/aiwradeon/index.html). I paid
really good money for it 3 years ago and it has been discontinued. It still
is an awesome card :)

It's good to know that I don't have to buy a new video card. I checked the
specs on the website above and I am fairly certain that in DVI mode, I can
only do 1280x1024. I was planning to use the standard VGA analog output to
drive the flat panel to get the best effect....

Thanks,
MT
