What version of PPT do you use?

In 2003 (and perhaps 2002) you can use Slide Show, Set Up Show to force the
screen resolution to various settings when the slide show starts.

This only seems to work for me if I play the slideshow from Powerpoint
itself. If I play it with the viewer (latest one downloaded today) then it
doesn't switch resolution, it just uses the current screen resolution.

I'm seeing the same thing. In writing the free viewer, they had to make some tough
choices about what PPT features could/couldn't be supported. I imagine this was on
the wrong side of the line.

I can understand why that decision might have been made but I can certainly
understand the frustration it causes you. As a possible workaround, perhaps
there's an app out there that'll set the resolution to your spec before you start
the show.

Maybe I could write my own app to wrap the viewer - thanks for the idea!
