i first had the problem of something about an NTLDR is missing but i fixed
that by making my computer boot of a CD but before that i think i messed up
my resolution settings in the setup menu at startup (delete to enter it) so
now i've got no tv that will support such a low setting it just comes up with
black screen and my new tv says something about 1366x763 i think, but i cant
correct it because i can only access the setup menu and press enter to load
from disk then nothing but black.

You do not fix a computer "by making my computer boot of a CD". That is
only a temporary measure to enable you to fix a problem. You need to do
that! You are seeing black screens because you are bootiong of a CD!

Remove the CD from the drive.

NTLDR is missing. Can you post a copy of the actual words?

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Keep pressing the F8
key during Start-Up and select option - Disable automatic restart on
system failure. Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure.

You probably need to repair your bootloader. Check out the following article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555304
You need an XP install disk and not an imaged "recovery" disk in order to do
this.
