Resizing Windows in Vista

Any windows that I have open on my desktop (IE, Word, Outlook, etc),
automatically resize themselves to half the screen; and the icons
automatically move around the resized window. This happens a lot, by itself.
I tried resizing the windows (minimizing, resizing, maximizing), but no luck.

Any idea how to fix this?

I don't have a virus. It's a brand new computer. It's been happening since
day one, before I even connected to the internet.

Thanks much.

Auto Arrange is not on. I have it set up to Allign to Grid. I even disabled
Allign to Grid... same problem.

Move the windows page to the top left corner of the screen, move the pointer
to the bottom right corner of the page until you se the double arrows left
click and drag the page to the required size. Go to File then click exit or
close. When you open it again it will be the size you left it. As far as the
icon positions are concerned could you have your desktop set as web page.

I did move the window and resized as you suggested and no luck with this
either. My desktop is not set as the web page. Sorry... this issue is driving
me nuts!!!
