Resizing Partitions

Can someone shed some light on an error message. I'm trying to resize two
partitions on my Windows XP Pro system using PartitionMagic. I go through
the wizard and when I go to apply the changes, I get an Error #11019 message
and nothing happens. I do not believe that this error is coming from
PartitionMagic, but is coming from Windows XP. So far I can't find any
reference to this error message, or what it may mean. Does anyone know what
this message means, so I can get on with what I need to do?

Thanks.

What size partitions do you currently have? What size are you trying to
make? You may be trying to exceed a limitation in either the BIOS or in XP
itself. You don't say if you have installed SP1 or not, so there is no way
to know for sure... Also, you don't mention what type of partition it is
you are trying to manipulate... are they NTFS or FAT32? What version of
Partition Magic are you using?

Please clarify these items first to provide a more thorough and correct
answer.

Thanks,
QN

You might get a hint of the meaning by installing a little program that
lists windows errors. Here is some info from the readme file:
WinErrs Version 1.0

Copyright © 02/17/2002 Camtech 2000 All Rights Reserved
Release Date: 03/19/2002
Compatibility: Win95/98/Me/Win2K/XP
===============================================
This program is Freeware
Reproduction in whole or part in any form without express
written permission of Camtech 2000 is prohibited

PLEASE NOTE: Some programs require the latest version of the VB Runtime
Library. Win98 usually has them but Win95 does not unless you've already
updated them. If you get an error message 'A required file MSVBVM60.DLL was
not found', you can update your system by downloading the newest version of
the VB 6 Runtime Library at my web site.

To install double click wnerrs10.exe

To uninstall WinErrs click uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs tab in the
Control Panel

Thanks QN. Sorry about that. 4 partitions. 8 Gb, 8 Gb, 8 Gb, and 20 Gb,
in that order. I wanted to shift 2 Gb from the second (D:) to the first
partition (C:). BIOS is relative new, no problems dealing with much bigger
partitions. I do have SP1 installed. All partitions are FAT32 not NTFS.
Don't want NTFS since I have other systems that don't recognize it.
Finally, PartitionMagic 8.01 is what I am using.
