Resizing Partitions

Can someone shed some light on an error message. I'm trying to resize two
partitions on my Windows XP Pro system using PartitionMagic. I go through
the wizard and when I go to apply the changes, I get an "Error #11019"
message and nothing happens. I do not believe that this error is coming
from PartitionMagic, but is coming from Windows XP. So far I can't find any
reference to this error message, or what it may mean. Does anyone know what
this message means, so I can get on with what I need to do?

Thanks.

It doesnt appear to be an XP code. We have only had one call in the past
and the customer referenced PM as the product giving the error code but
never responded to support so we never got a chance to troubleshoot it. I
would call the PM people to see if its a known issue on their end.

PQ uses 4 & 5 digit errr msgs. If PM keeps running then
that is surely 1 of their's.

PQ manuals DL'd from website has slew of errors & what
to try.

Any advice given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS. Personal attacks, nitpicking & criticism
of anything but content will NOT be responded to. Those

Larry, I like the PowerQuest product but find support from their site to be
a bit confusing and lacking. I've looked at their "Master" error code list,
but nothing near this error message shows up. I tried e-mailing their tech
support last night to get their input today, but the e-mail program they use
failed. Where do you find the manuals with their error codes? I can find
no reference to it on their website.

I agree TS sucks. Luckily lots of users here.
From Users Guide:

Operating System Errors (over 10,000)
Any number over 10,000 indicates an operating system
error. To determine the number of
the operating system error, subtract 10,000. (For
example, 10,032 - 10,000 = 32) Consult
your operating system documentation for information
about resolving the error.

So I was wrong. Sorry.

FAQ & KB @ http://www.powerquest.com/support/

I think Users Guide & other PDFs came from CD- u gotta
copy them to HD as I recall.

I agree TS sucks. Luckily lots of users here.
From Users Guide:
Run chkdsk /f
To try and narrow it down, create the partition magic
bootable floppies and run that version.
At least you'll know where the message is from, also,
the operation may well succeed.

Since they load DOS, do they wotk on non-FAT32
partitions?

I've had DOS version work 2 or 3 times where XP version
didnt. Dont know why but now it's SOP with me.

Thanks- bye- Larry

Yes, you can do all the same stuff you can do from within windows.

On which, 1019 = 3FB hex which is bigger than any XP error code I have
heard of (which go to around 264) , and it does not show up in the
Knowledge base
