Resizable=NO popups close after 1 second??

If I generate a popup window using a script in an htm file, where an
ONCLICK event pops up the window, if I specify RESIZABLE=NO, the
window closes automatically. If I allow it to be resizable, it does
not close. This is even with Google set to allow popups, and
IE6/xp/sp2 set to allow popups and scripts enabled. Of course, the
popup is happening anyway, it is not blocked, it is simply
disappearing less than 1 second after it appears.

Mind you, some would love this, but when I have requested the popup by
clicking, I actually do want to see it.

What am I missing?

and earlier versions. I found a setting hidden away and unchecked "block
popups aggressively"
With this checked i couldn't even use IE6 in full screen mode.
