Resetup Computer System

Hi All,

I need help on how to resetup my laptop like a new one. I want to reformat
my harddisk and then setup windows.

The task steps are largely dependent on the make and model laptop you have and what disks where
provided by the manufacturer.
If you have a set of "Restore" disks, provided by or made from their instructions, from HP/Compaq.
Simply place disk #1 in the CD drive and restart the computer. Then follow the on-screen
instructions for a complete system restore. HP, Compaq, and many others have a hidden partition on
the hard drive that will also let you start the restore process. Your owners manual should have
instructions.
If you have a Dell laptop, you start with your Windows XP disk and choose install and follow the
on-screen instructions (Don't do the repair install). But when you are through, you will have to
then run the drivers disk installing the motherboard drivers first, then the video and then the
remaining drivers.

Let us know what brand and model laptop you have and what disks came with it.
