My husband installed his zen music software and now whenever I click on a wmv
file on a web page it says unknown file type and asks me to chose to save or
download. After I click save it does open windows media player and play but
I never had to do this before. Before the software install Windows media
player would automatically open when the link was clicked. How do I restore
this?

Thank you,

Sue

Try opening Windows Media Player and go to Tools, Options, File Type tab.
Check the file types that you want Media Player to be the default.

In addition to the excellent advice that Don has given you,
explain to your husband as to what his actions have caused and
work out some kind of compromise as to what default actions will
apply in the future. He could always opt to open his files via
the 'open with' option on the right click menu and thus leave
your settings as you set them.

Thank you thank you . . . worked. And I will talk to hubby regarding
"default actions" as you explained here.

Again,

Thank you!
