Users that have been upgraded to OL2007 (from OLXP) are unable to reschedule
or delete a meeting with resources set up through direct booking. They do
not have this problem with meetings they have created since being upgraded to
OL2007.

Hi customer,

Based on my testing, I am unable to reproduce the issue. When I create a
meeting with resources set up through direct booking in Outlook 2007, I can
cancel the meeting or reschedule the meeting.

What is the detail steps to reproduce the issue?

Did you get any error message when you try to edit/delete the meeting with
resources set up through direct booking, or Outlook 2007 just hangs? If
there is any error, please take a screen shot of it and send it to me at
(e-mail address removed).

Emily Lin

Hi,

Before we go any further, I would like to confirm with you on the following
points for further research.

1. Did you get any error message when you try to edit/delete the meeting
which was created in Outlook 2002, or Outlook 2007 just hangs?

2. Does the same issue also occur with another Exchange email account?

3. Come into Outlook 2007 safe mode to test the issue
==============
a. Click Start > Run > type outlook /safe, click OK.
b. Try to delete the meeting to test the issue. What is the result?

4. Please create a new Outlook profile and configure the Exchange email
account in the new profile to test the issue.

For detail steps about how to create a new Outlook profile, please refer to
the following KB article.

What is the result?

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't
hesitate to contact me.

1. Did you get any error message when you try to edit/delete the meeting

The error message is: "You marked <conference room> as a resource. You
cannot schedule a meeting with <conference room> because you do not have the
appropriate permissions for that account. Either enter the name as a
required or optional attendee or talk to your administrator about giving you
permission to schedule <conference room>." The permission assigned to this
user and all non-admin users is Author.

2. Does the same issue also occur with another Exchange email account?
YES

Hi,

The error means that the current Exchange account doesn't have the
permission to edit the resource mailbox. Were the meetings original created
by a delegate? The resource mailbox requires Editor permissions for the
delegate or manager that tries to modify the appointment items from the
resource mailbox.

Please refer to the following 2 work around to see if it works.

#1 Set the default permission on the resource Calendar folder to Editor.
With this option, everyone can update all appointment items from the
resource account.
#2 Give Editor permission to the individuals that have to update the
appointment items from the resource Calendar folder. With this option,
those people who have Editor permission can update all appointment items
from the resource account.
