REQ: Draw directly on the desktop.

I need to use the mouse to draw simple shapes, arrows and circles
directly onto the desktop or onto running software. (I need to make
lots of video screen captures of software with bits highlighted)

FWIW, I noted this on the download page (whatever it means):

"After downloading and fully tested VirtualBoard, you may order a
license on this page to benefit of the full version in order to use your
own screen themes."
