Reposted...Help awaited

This afternoon i got a message from Norton Antivirus that my system was
infected with W32.Welchia.Worm in the system32.Dll of my main drive where i
have the Windows XP Home. I tried to remove it but did not succeed nor was i
able to quarantine it.
Can someone please advise as to how this is to be removed without formating
the drive.
Shall be very grateful for any advise or help.

Thanks Kelly, I've been waiting since last night and had to repost the
request.
I am lucky to have 2 hard disks otherwise i would be stuck without a
computer.
