Just wondering if any one has an answer. Previous posts
listed below:(top posted, so the op is at the bottom)

Nobody said anything about Msn messenger. Did you even
read my question? I wanted to know why Windows Messenger
5.0 is not on the windows update website, but is
available for download from the MS downloads page. This
is not MSN Messenger this is Windows Messenger 5.0. It
has been out for almost a year now. Why is it not on the
windows update website. And just so there's no confussion
which one I'm talking about here is the link.

So does anyone have a answer to my original question?
Thanks.

In my opinion, it is because Windows messenger 5.0 lost some functionality,
as compared to Windows messenger 4.7, and it is NOT considered an upgrade.
Therefore, it is not pushed out to those who may not want it. Those who do
want it have to hunt it down and specifically download the program.

Hey, Hey..... Krusty. Milhouse and I watch your show
everyday.
Do you know what functionality is lost? I haven't noticed
anything. In fact, I see new options to connect to
exchange servers and the auto-away option when in full
screen programs. 4.7 doesn't do either of these things. 5
does voice and video as well. What am I missing here?
Thnx.
