[Repost] MacroMaker Version 2.0.0.4

I'm sure that this has been posted in here, but I think it is worth
another look for any new members who are not familiar with it.

MacroMaker allows you to create macros or recordings to automate most
anything that you already do by hand. MacroMaker was written more for
the use of people who regularly use computers and programmers rather
than the casual PC user. Most anything you know how to do by hand can be
translated into a macro or recording in MacroMaker. If you are having to
perform repetitive tasks, this program will help you out tremendously.
The user can simulate a series of keystrokes, mouse events, play back
previous recordings of keystrokes and mouse events or execute some
built-in functions with just a keystroke. You can even store content
from the clipboard in internal MacroMaker buffers for later use.

MacroMaker has been tested on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and
should have no problem running on any 32 bit Microsoft Windows operating
system.

There are two version for download:

Install version comes in an .msi package 425.5 kb
Non-install version 684 kb (Make sure that you also download the help
file)

A great program!

Just looking at their FAQ, this seems like not so good a program.

1) It stores all macros in the registry. Since macros can grow quite
large, the registry is not the appropriate place to put them. Also, it
then becomes quite difficult to move a macro recording from one
machine to another.

2) You must have be logged on with admin rights to use the program
(not just to install it, but to use it!)

There are much better freeware macro programs available -- see the
pricelessware list.

Sorry it doesn't work for you. I"m been using the non-install version for
the past few days without any problems at all and no messages of having to
have admin rights?????? Win98SE system.

Thanks for the review Terry. Both of your points, particularly (1) are
serious design deficiencies IMO.

There is no such thing as admin rights on a win98 system. All users
have all rights.
