repositories

I'm not sure I understand why there isn't a separate repository maintenance
tool? Lumping it in with the CD seems to not make sense. I want to create a
single repository for files that I'll need in two different components. If I
create the registry in one and just use it in the other, if I add more files
to the 'source location' that are needed by the second component, I have to
reimport the first one just to get the file added to the repository. What am
I missing here? Thanks!

Larry,

You are missing the fact that CD deal with sld file that is actually project
file that can contain more than one component.
So you should add all your related components to same SDL file along with
repository definition.

Ahhh, I didn't think of it that way and that sort of makes sense. Still seems
like I'm importing both when only one has changed :) I still think I'd prefer
a separate tool for repositories.

Also, keep in mind that Repository is nothing more that a GUID saved in database and linked to a directory under \Windows Embedded
Data folder. It does not even list the files under that directory. So you can actually update the Repository without an XPe tool but
just by copying the additional files to the Repository folder manually.

Although having project correlated components in one SLD file is easier to maintain and more clear way.
