Report Wizard Woes

Folks, I have been trying for hours to to solve what I think is an incredibly
simple issue with Access Reports. I am running Access 2007. I have a lot of
recent experience with Access Reports on 2003.

I run the report wizard to create a summary report. I am trying to reformat
the report, add some total fields, etc., and am having several issues:

- I cannot move any report colums. I click them and go to drag them and
cannot.
- I cannot insert a heading text box or label
- I pick a header text box, and it is automatically liked to the detail
field. How can I separate them?
- I cannot resize any of the header boxes independently... If I make one
shorter, they all get shorter.

It look the header blocks are grouped, and I cannot figure out how to
ungroup them...

I would be home already if I was still on 2003... not an option. Help!

This is a feature they have added for your delight. Unfortunately it is
really frustrating to figure out the problem, but it is simple to change.
Highlight the fields and labels you want to be able to move. Select the
Arrange tab, the Control Layout Section and select Remove. At first I
thought this was a horrible feature but I have learned to use it to my
advantage. If there are several fields I need to adjust the size of, I can
stretch one side and the field next to it adjusts automatically, so I don't
have to push that one over in another step.

Mich, this did the trick... thanks a ton. I burned a ton of hours trying to
figure out this simply thing... I would have spent a ton more no doubt
without your help.

Jim
