replying to incoming mail or sending to other addresses

I can only send/reply to e-mail addresses within my server network. If I try
to send to other e-mail addresses (outside my server network) the message
comes back as "undeliverable server can't be found or did not respond"

What kind of mail server are you using? Is it an SMTP server you're
connecting to inside your office?

You have to authenticate to the SMTP server you are sending through, it
sounds like. Ask whomever manages your SMTP server for help if you are
having problems doing this.

They are working on it. The network administrator had never had this problem
before. My question was to make sure I had adjused any internal settings in
Outlook on my laptop.

I can't say whether you adjusted anything or not! :)
If authentication is required, as it likely is (most admins don't allow open
relay as spammers will exploit it), you will need to set up your POP3
account properties so that you provide credentials to use the outbound/SMTP
server.

OK Thanks, I will try that route.
