Replying/Forwarding email adds spaces before and after edit

I saw a topic on this that was closed, but it did not quite answer the
issue. We are not using Word as the default editor. Any time someone
goes to forward/reply to an email there is a space added before and
after the edit. There has got to be a way to turn this off.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

I too have come across a similar phenomenon in the last few days. Blank
lines are now inserted before the original message when reply or forward
buttons are clicked - not just a few lines, but some 15 or 20 blank lines.
As far as I'm aware, the only changes I've made to software have been the
microsoft updates. Any help would be appreciated.

OK. I'm almost too embarrased to report this....but I've discovered that I
caused my own problem! In case anyone else is as daft as me, this is what I
did.

In Word, I'd reformatted my "Normal" template (to solve a printing problem)
and, not having used it since the reformatting, had not noticed I'd
inadvertantly put a number of blank lines in the template. Using word as my
Outlook editor consequently put in these blank lines into the original
message when "replying" or "forwarding".

Correcting my "Norman.dot" template has solved it. (Blush, blush; shame,
shame!)
