"reply to" mail often returned?

When I use "Reply to" for mail rather than make a new messsage I often get a
system admistrator response to indicate failure. Why might that be?

If I make a new message and cut and past the old one in that seems ok.

Can't say with so little info. Is the sender using a different reply-to
address in his/her mail client? When you hit reply, does the to: address
look correct/identical to the one you want?

What's the exact text of the error message/NDR?
