replication through checkpoint/nokia firewall

I am having trouble replicating data to a server on the
other side of an HA pair nokia appliances running
checkpoint firewall-1 NG FP3 with VRRP enabled. If my
server has a default gateway equal to the VRRP address
connectivity fails, but if I use the physical interface
IP address for either of the firewalls everything is
fine. This doesn't make sense. Any ideas??
