2 Domain Controllers not replicating Help!!!

R

Rich

I have 2 domain controllers on a network that are both
Windows 2000. They are not replicating. I added a user
on one server and she is not showing up on the other
server. If i would try to add the same user on the other
server, it won't let me because it says the user name
already exist on the network. I am getting several
errors on both servers. The original DC is getting the
following errors ID 1126 & 1655 with source NTDS
General. 1126 says unable to establish connection with
GC. 1655 gives the status of RPC server is too busy.
Also 13508 Source NTFRS

The other server is getting event id 1586 (Source NTDS
Replication) & 13508 (Source NTFRS). 1586 says the
checkpoint with PDC was unsuccessful.... Error: Access
Denied. 13508 says The File Replication Service is
having trouble enabling replication from...

I know this usually points to DNS. I used nslookup on
both servers and can resolve both by name and IP
address. I can also ping both servers by name and IP.
Thanks for any assistance.

Rich,

Take a look at the following MSKB Article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=249256

My assumption for supplying you with this link is that you have one Site and
not multiple ( or, in the case of multiple Sites, the DCs in question are
both in the same Site ).

How long are this servers not replicating ? First check your DNS settings so
that your servers point to internal DNS servers responsible for AD. If
replication was not working for some time, then your DC computer accounts
are out of sync and you will need to reset them. Follow
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];Q288167 to reset
computer accounts.
