Replication over 128k slow link

Hello,im having problem getting DC so replicate over slow
link,is there any thing anyone can suggest for this....has
any one tried SMTP rather than IP for replication ,since u
can compress it with SMTp seems like a winner but want
feedback before i go an do it...

In my org we have links as slow as 64K but the MS rep
still recommended using IP instead of SMTP. Not sure why
they recommended it. We are able to get replication,
although slowly.

If the DC's are in the same domain, then you have to use IP. SMTP will only
replicate the Schema and Configuration containers and not the domain
partition.
